Amanda Donohoe is an English film and television actress who is best known for her work on the hit television series, L.A. Law and Emmerdale. Born in 1962, Donohoe was raised in London and is the daughter of two antique dealers. Her acting skills were honed early as she attended the Central School of Speech and Drama as a young teen. In the early 1980s, Donohoe began appearing in music videos for the group Adam and the Ants, and would later become known for dating the leader singer, Adam Ant. In 1991, Donohoe raised some eyebrows as her character, C.J. Lamb, began kissing women in a number of L.A. Law episodes - a series run that is now simply called the "lesbian kiss episodes." The actress also earned high praise for her role in the hit film Liar Liar opposite Jim Carrey in 1997. British public television station Channel 4 has ranked Donohoe as number 34 on its list of the greatest British actresses of all-time.
