Amelia graduated from the University of Texas, where she was a member of the Longhorns cheerleading squad. She says that she will "remember the school fight song for the rest of her life."
Amelia has appeared in television commercials for Quaker Oatmeal and Public Storage.
Amelia admits that when her [now] ex-husband Daryl Waters first asked her to marry him, she said no.
Amelia says that if she ever won the lottery she'd use the money to produce a Broadway show.
In 2003, Amelia was a judge in the Miss Universe Pageant.
Amelia was originally hired as a day player on Guiding Light but once producers decided to give actor Vince Williams [Hamp] a love interest, they moved her up to contract status and put the two together on the show.
Amelia was married to Daryl Waters from 1992 to 1995 and to Kent Schaffer from 1997 to 2001. She and Schaffer have a son, Kent Marshall Dylan Schaffer, who was born in 1998.
Amelia attended the High School of Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas.
After graduating from college, Amelia worked as a telephone repair supervisor for Southwestern Bell.
Amelia's hobbies include reading, baking, and knitting. She also admits that she has a weakness for amusement parks, and goes whenever she can.

Amelia was nominated for three straight Image Awards, from 1998 to 2000, in the category of "Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series" for her portrayal of "Belinda" on All My Children.
Amelia is 5'5" with brown hair and brown eyes.
Amelia: I've got to be one of the strangest women on the face of the earth. I have to do everything backwards. I have to resist the rules.
Amelia: (on auditioning co-stars for All My Children) Every guy who walked in that room just got more and more handsome. I thought, 'Oh, my goodness. If they can't pick somebody from this group, they're crazy.' I went home and told my [then-] husband [Kent Alan Schaffer], 'I kissed 11 handsome men today. Hope you don't mind.'
Amelia: I've gotten so many jobs I shouldn't have gotten. My guardian angel is always there. I've done three Broadway shows as a dancer/singer, and I always felt like, 'How did I get this?'
Amelia: (on being named after her great aunt) I always felt special because I had a name I didn't run into a lot. It gives you something to live up to somewhat.
Amelia: (on playing "Liz" on Passions) Some days, laughter is the only thing I have. There are days that I have such hateful things to say that if I don't laugh about it, I'm lost.
Amelia: My mom and sister watched soaps, but I hated them until I was in college. When I heard the theme from Days of Our Lives, that meant it was time to go out and play.
