Ms.Martinez-Casado comes from a family of four generations of actors, starting in Cuba singing in operas, zarzuelas, TV and theater. She moved to Monterrey, Mexico where she continued her career in theater, radio and TV, acting for soap operas, comedies, dramas and film next to figures such as María Felix, David Reynoso and Cantinflas. She spent a season in the musical Hello Dolly next to Libertad Lamarque and produced by Manolo Fábregas. She moved to Miami were she worked in productions such as The King and I, Luisa Fernanda, Cecilia Valdés, La Taberna del Puerto and Man of la Mancha. She met Repertorio Español in Miami where she performed in plays such as Private Lives, Don Juan Tenorio and The Fantasticks. Also in Miami, she performed for five years as part of the cast of Que pasa USA?, a role that gave her an Emmy Award for best Individual Talent of South Florida. She has been part of Repertorio Español's permanent company for 20 years, working in over thirty different plays such as Yerma, Broken Eggs, Las Damas Modernas de Guanabacoa, La Valija, La Flaca, Los Cabellos de Absalón y La Pasión Según Antígona Pérez. Currently, she plays Poncia in The House of Bernarda Alba, and Mother in Bodas de Sangre. She has won two ACE awards, the special theatre award in 1995 and the award for best actress in 1998.
