The Heavens are filled with your voice now...

You were the reason Angel had such a heart...I am watching the Pylean episodes now and can not believe that you are no longer in this world...you will be missed by all.

You came on Angel and took our hearts. You had the best lines...delivering comedy and pathos with perfect timing. Your voice was amazing and captivated all who listened. I am sad that I never had the chance to meet you. You seemed to be such a reachable person. Someone who would have been a great friend and confidant. I and many others will find solace in Angel's reruns...watching and listening and hoping that somewhere you can see us as well..RIP...

Given that, if my understanding is correct, Lorne was Andy Hallett's first acting role, then this kid has got serious talent both as a singer and comic actor with soul. Sadly, I haven't seen him in anything since, so I don't know if he's still in the Hollywood mix, but anyone who can act that well, through prosthetics and red contacts, right out of the gate should seriously be getting his on-camera (or behind the mic) due. Lorne could have easily been (forgive the pun) a one-note, throw-away bit of Angel-verse silliness. But Andy carried him admirably through four seasons. And, by the way, I can't even imagine four years of 3-hour makeup sessions five days a week. So whatever Andy is doing now, Lorne will forever be one of my all-time-favorite sci-fi characters. So thanks to Joss Whedon for creating him, and major thanks to Andy for bringing him to life.
  • My least favorite character.

Loren was too oily, too lounge-lizzardity. His outfits were horrid, like a pimp let loose with a charge card. At the end of the series he was too whinny. I liked Skip better than this character.

You have to wonder why the pictures have all been stuffed with this actor. I went thru the first dozen or so and they were all of this guy (who you can't even recognize without his green makeup). Maybe he hasn't found work and is trying to get his picture out there?? But to (reluctantly) give credit where credit is due, if Joss wanted the character to be so ... replusive, the actor nailed it on the head.

That night I Was slightly freaking out because I live 2 hours away by bus and if I wanted to get home in time it might not have been possible to attend the Karaoke function at the Toronto Hobbystar convention, but my wonderful mother said she'd come down and pick me up thus giving me a chance to attain Karaoke funness! Anyways there was some drama I'll skip it. When I finally got in there was fun to be had. Everyone's right. Andy is absoultely great. He's a sweetie. It's all about the social graces he obviously is gifted with. He's funny, free with the hugs!:)

But I really think my shining happy moment for that entire weekend was singing with the wonderful man. I got bumped up a little cause I asked and I had to leave by 12. I got to sing after this woman had sung The Rose by Bette midler, she did this beautiful job but peeps kept talking and not listening so I Was kinda getting nervous that I Wouldn't be given my respects... u know what I'm saying? decided to sing Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin, partly cause I knew Andy would really like it and partly knew cause I'd do a job I could be proud of when singing it... I didn't even get through the first verse before he wanted to jump on stage. :D ( and so my diabolical plan goes into action!!! ) He asked very politely if he could be back up and of Course I said "Yeah!" but I felt kinda bad, cause I kinda ignored him when I coulda sang with him. :,( When it was done he put his arm around me asked me my name said he loved that name a-a-nd gave me a kisss on da cheek! Much perkiness was had and I was burstin with much happiness as I left with a treasured memory. Treasured!

He also sang Sinatra's I did it my way and there was a line chorus and slow dancing and you could just feel the fellowship/community in the room....

Anyways It's not that much of a perky story but it was all good nonetheless... :)

His role as Lorne on Angel brought both musical talent and much needed comic relief in Joss Whedon's dark Los Angeles. Lorne was always one of my all-time favorite characters from that show and I feel he was never given enough credit. His voice (and what he can do with it) is highly impressive, and the fact that he could still look good under layers of green make-up really says something. He was always believable in the role and always lovable, through to the very end. While Joss Whedon is responsible for a part of Lorne's character, Andy Hallett really brought it to life. Unfortunately, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing him in anything else, but I will definitely keep an eye out for it.

I had no idea he was in Buffy's "Hush." I have to go watch that episode again.

Lorne is very funny is Angel, he is full of laughs and makes the show a little bit more lighter at times. I like seeing him in the show, he is very good singer as well, who eventually helps Angel Investigations. Hallet played his role really well and I give him a 9 out of 10.

I of course am a huge fan of buffy / angel , and I first saw Andy Hallett on angel as the host ! Hes the kind of actor/person who with not having to put any work into makes you smile hes just a very nice easy going guy and it was a total pleasure to watch him on Angel for years I would love it if he did another TV show or maybe a movie I would also get a huge kick out of a CD with him singing as himself/host it really doesn't matter because its his voice I'm after I wish him the best of luck in the future -Amber
  • Just a few words about "the Green Guy"

    hi,

i'm from Israel and i watch Angel. I love Lorne "The Green Guy". he makes you feel good. The energies that comes from him eventhough he is only acting makes you feel safe next to him. I'm sure he is also a good person in life. I can't imagine "angel" without him he puts so much into the show that i can't even remember how was it before he came.

I sure hope to see him acting more and singing ( he has a great voice ) more. Hopefully "angle" continues because it is also a good program.

    Hope to more of Andy!

He was the green demon "Lorne" in the series "Angel", and as an actor he's alo pretty green. His acting is more than ok, and he really made me laugh in some episodes of Angel. I think he is an great actor, despite his lack of experience and acting education. I hope to see more of him in the future :)
