Andy Whitfield was a Welsh actor best known for playing the title role in the Starz series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Whitfield was the star of the show's first season, but had to leave the series after two battles with cancer.

Had to be the best actor on TV! it's a shame we lost you to cancer. Now the new Spartacus tries hard to take your place, but he will never besatisfying. The blood and sands season was simple perfect, but now we rely on Gannicus! RIP wish is wasn't true..
