Angela Bloomfield plays Shortland Street Administration Manager, Rachel McKenna.
Angela was only 19 and had completed two years at design school when she won the role of Rachel on Shortland Street in 1992.
She performed on the show for seven years and transformed Rachel from the school girl daughter of clinic boss Michael McKenna into a university student, bar manager and later, a Shortland Street clinic employee.
In addition to her role on Shortland Street, Angela has also performed in a number of feature films including Bonjour Timothy and The Frighteners. Prior to Shortland Street, she also appeared in television productions such as Black Stallion and Betty's Bunch.
In 1999, Angela left Shortland Street. She took a break from acting and even tried her hand at directing as a trainee director on both Shortland Street and Jacksons Wharf.
In late 2000, Angela came back to Shortland Street to reprise her role as Rachel McKenna.
