Angelina has been nominated for 3 SAG awards. In 1999 she won for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries for Gia. In 2000 she won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for Girl, Interrupted. In 2008 she was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for A Mighty Heart.

Angelina was nominated for two Emmy awards in 1998. She was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for Gia. She was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for George Wallace.

- On March 15, 2007, Angelina adopted another son, a three year old from Vietnam, Pax Thien Jolie (originally Pham Quang Sang) born on November 29, 2003, as a single parent to due Vietnam laws on unmarried couples on adopting children. After the adoption was finalized, his last name was legally changed to Jolie-Pitt. It has been said Angelina's late mother suggested the name, Pax, before she died.

In September 2006, Brad and Ange were forced to quickly set up a charity when questions were asked about where $5.5 million they got for selling photos of Shiloh was, despite their promise the cash would go to charity. According to federal tax filings, they gave over $8 million for their foundation in 2006.

Angelina came under fire in October 2006 after being cast as Mariane Pearl, the mixed race wife of murdered US journalist Daniel Pearl in the movie A Mighty Heart. Make up artists darkened Angelina's skin for the role, causing outrage among anti-discrimination groups who believe a mixed-race actress should have been cast.

Angelina's many tattoos include the Japanese sign for death, two pointy black American Indian symbols, a dragon, a large black cross, an 'H' on the inside of her wrist, the Tennesee Williams quote, "A prayer for the wild at heart, kept in cages," on her left forearm, the words "Lady Croft" on an arm and the Latin phrase "Quod me nutrit me destruit" ("What nourishes me also destroys me") across her stomach. She also has a tattoo of a blue window on her lower back, which she claims is because no matter where she is at any point in her life, she always finds herself looking out a window, wishing to be elsewhere. During the filming of the first Tomb Raider film, Angelina spent 2 hours a day in make-up to cover all the tattoos she has.

Angelina collects knives and has an interest in mortuary science.

He often accompanies her to awards shows, and she used his name, or at least his memory, as inspiration in the "Where's Jamie?!" scene in Girl, Interrupted (1999). The pair are so close, they had to publicly deny false rumors that they were having an incestuous love affair.

Angelina worked as a professional model in London, New York and Los Angeles, and has also appeared in music videos for such artists as Meatloaf, Antonello Venditti, Lenny Kravitz, Lemonheads and The Rolling Stones. In addition, she has acted in five student films for the USC School of Cinema, all directed by her brother, James Haven.
