Angie Milliken was first commercially recognised for her acting in 1991 after starring in the Australian Tele-Movie, Act Of Necessity, alongside Mark Owen-Taylor. This performance earned her an Australian Film Institute (AFI) award for Best Acress In A Leading Role. After this Milliken began to win more high profile roles, including Jill Carter in A Country Practice, Jo Moody in The Feds and Ziggy Keane in Paperback Hero.

Milliken had small roles in a number of films, but won acclaim for her role as Minie Meredith in My Brother Jack.
