Angus MacFadyen was born on September 21, 1963 because of his father being a doctor for the World Health Organization Angus was educated in different parts of the world including Africa, Australia, France, The Philippines, Singapore and Denmark. He has an International Baccalaureate than he earned in Copenhagen and a MA (hons) in French and English from the University of Edinburgh.

Angus trained as an actor at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He has been very active on the stage appearing in Faculty of Rats, The Tempest and The Beautiful and the Damned (to name a few) for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has written plays including 1905 in 1991 for which he won the Questors Theater Student Playwriting Award. Angus better known role is Robert the Bruce in Braveheart. His hobbies include painting, sculpting, kickboxing and trips to the gym.
