Anjelica: Where there is age there is evolution, where there is life there is growth.
-
Anjelica: There were times when I hated my nose. But you grow up and you start to recognize that maybe it wasn't a bad thing that you weren't born Barbie.
-
Anjelica: I do like the ocean wave, actually. I'm born under the sign of Cancer-the sign of the crab-so I like coastal areas and sunny beaches and such-although not the wide-open and deep seas.
-
Anjelica: I think most actors like to be liked.
-
Anjelica: I'm not all that big on rides. I sort of like bumper cars but I don't really go to Disneyland all that much unless if have nieces and nephews or people to take.
-
Anjelica: Where there is age there is evolution, where there is life there is growth.
-
Anjelica: I've always thought with relationships, that it's more about what you bring to the table than what you're going to get from it. It's very nice if you sit down and the cake appears. But if you go to the table expecting cake, then it's not so good.
-
Anjelica: My biggest ambition is never to be bored. I'm not aggressive enough to strongly run after being an actress.
-
Anjelica: Some people had fathers who were bankers or farmers, my father made films, that's how I saw it. As for the movie stars, they were just around, some of them were friends, others weren't, it was all just a part of my everyday life.
-
Anjelica: I'm not really big on slapstick humor. I like gentle humor.
-
Anjelica: [On having children] I have two new nephews and a new niece this year, so I have plenty of kids that I can spend time with.
-
Anjelica: Age is not enviable in America. It's not applauded all that strongly. You have to take it all with a grain of salt.
-
Anjelica: My father was extremely loving to me and funny and wise and understanding, and at other times extremely demanding, critical, calculating, exacting. When you're a young woman, I think you want to please a lot, so maybe you accept more of the criticism than you would as an older person. But criticism can be very wounding. It certainly was to me.
-
Anjelica: I was never happily hedonistic. There's no hedonism without a downside.
-
Anjelica: It was difficult directing myself. For a woman it's extra-hard because you have to spend an hour and a half in hair and make-up and you're late to set up shots and you're changing clothes in the street and there's no time to recover.
-
Anjelica: I've never been the kind of actress whose sole interest was sex appeal, so I think that earns you some longevity. And I like character parts. It's a lot more fun and you don't have to rely on being the taste of the moment. That level of fame is probably very difficult to deal with. People screaming your name in the streets, quite honestly, isn't an audience I'm desperate to capture. I'm lucky. The people who tell me they like my work tend to be the kind of people I might be friends with anyway. I have a really nice audience.
-
Anjelica: I can't help feeling the world is on this terrible roller coaster where nobody can get it up since the atom bomb.
-
Anjelica: I like to dance. I probably would have been a dancer. I love music, it's good for the soul and dancing is good for people. I dance on my own, I go to classes, I have that sort of energy. I need to dance. People only need to dance to make them feel happy.
-
Anjelica: I have a very full life and I am very happy with where I am now. I don't want to change anything. I once wanted to have children and it was not my choice not to have children but it hasn't broken my heart that I haven't. I think unless you're truly whole-heartedly prepared to make a full-time commitment, you have to really think about it. I certainly wouldn't adopt children just because everybody in show business seems to be doing it.
