Anna Stuart

11/1/1948 , Bluefield, West Virginia, USA

Birth Name

Anna Stuart has worked steadily in the world of soap operas since 1971 when she originated the role of Toni Ferra Powers on NBC's The Doctors.

Anna left The Doctors in 1977 and joined the ABC soap opera General Hospital in the role of Dr. Gina Dante. In 1978 her character was written out. Anna was a temporary replacement in 1980 for actress Maeve Kinkaid on Guiding Light.

After Kinkaid's return to the series in 198 Anna's career went nowhere until 1983 when Anna was offered the role of Donna Love on the NBC soap opera Another World.

Anna expressed her displeasure with her character's direction in 1986 and left the show to take a shot at Hollywood. The gamble never really paid off.

In 1989 Anna was persuaded to return to the series after the actress who replaced her, Philice Sempler, was fired. Anna accepted the offer and remained with Another World until the series' cancellation in 1999.

Anna made several guest starring appearances on another P&G soap opera, As the World Turns where she made her last appearance in 2001.

Luckily, one of ABC's top rated soap opera's All My Children was in search of an actress to play the mother of Greenlee Smythe. In the spring of 2002 Anna made her first appearance as Mary Smythe. Since then Anna has guest starred many times on the show but yet another contract role remains elusive.
