    • Anthony: (on traffic reporter Vic Larusso who outed him on live radio) The thing I was most pissed off about was that he called me a snob. I can't even remember him coming up to our table that night we met. I was out with a group of people. I didn't know who he was and he didn't introduce himself to me.
    • Anthony: (confirming to media that he is gay) Yes, I am gay. I have no issue with my sexuality now, but it's taken time to become confident with who I am and happy with who I am…. I don't think it's a big issue. Who cares? This might create a bit of gossip around the water cooler but apart from that I don't think it's a major thing. If people have an issue with it, it's their issue. It shouldn't really be relevant to me being a singer and a performer.
    • Anthony: (on growing up gay in a close, Italian community) I went through a stage of major depression. I hated myself. I went through a stage where I didn't want to be me. I didn't understand why I had to be this way. It would have been much easier not to be gay, I could have done what was expected of me and got married and had kids. But that's not reality any more. We don't live in the 1950s. But getting through that makes you a stronger person, it allows me to do what I'm doing now.
    • Anthony: (on supporting Pavarotti) I met him in Perth and they asked me to sing for him. You don't get asked every day to sing for Pavarotti! I had a quick chat with him afterwards and he was really supportive. He said, 'You sound great. Good luck.' So it was really cool.
    • Anthony: (describing a mishap on a plane in 2006) I was sitting on a plane and the inside of the window actually fell out. I called the flight attendant over and I said, 'Should I be worried about this?' And she goes, 'Thanks for letting us know. You should be OK.' And I went, 'Should?!' Luckily I wasn't sucked out of the plane!
    • Anthony: (on his fans) It's great to have that fan base! I constantly jump onto the forum (on my own site) and see what they're gasbagging about and what they want from me. It's great to get that feedback, and I'm very lucky to have them.
    • Anthony: (asked if he is a perfectionist) Yeah. And sometimes a bit of a pain in the bum as well! Because I want to make sure it's right.
    • Anthony: Music is my life. It's my reason for being. And anyway, I'm crap at everything else!
    • Anthony (on making the Top 50 most memorable moments on Australian television with his performance of 'The Prayer'): I remember being extremely nervous about this performance [The Prayer]. I was taking a massive risk. I followed some voice inside that was telling me to just do it. The response I received from the audience and the public still amazes me. Who would have thought it would ever make the top 50 most memorable moments on Australian television?!
