Anthony Mackie is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. First studying acting at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Mackie would later complete his education at Juillard.
Mackie's first professional acting role was playing Tupac Shakur in a theatre production entitled, Up Against the Wind. Mackie would later go on to star in big time movies such as 8 Mile, Hollywood Homicide, and The Manchurian Candidate.
