Arthur Hiller is a Canadian film actor, director and producer born on November 22, 1923, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He has directed scores of titles including Oscar nominated performances with Ryan O'Neal, John Marley, George C. Scott, Ali Mac Graw and Maximilian Schell. He has also acted in or produced several performances including The Careless Years, The Wheelers Deal, Promise Her Anything, Tobruk, The Tiger Makes Out, Love Story, The Man in the Glass Booth, Nightwing, The In-Laws, Making Love, The Lonely Guy, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Carpool and National Lampoon's Pucked. Arthur attended University College, University of Toronto from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1947. He received his Master of Arts degree in psychology in 1950 and an honorary Doctor of Laws in 1995. Arthur began his showbiz career in television in the 1950s and later moved to film. He has been married to Gwen Hiller since 1948, and the couple have two children.
