London born child actor Asa Butterfield is best known for his dramatic role of the son of a nazi in the Holocaust film The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (2008). However, he started acting at the Young Actors Theatre in his hometown every Friday afternoon after school ever since he was 7 years of age. Soon he got into some minor roles both in the small and big screen like the 2006 television drama After Thomas and the 2007 film Son of Rambow. 2008 would mark a difference after he had a guest role in Ashes to Ashes and he became internationally well known for his leading role in The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. At the age of 11, he's been already acknowledged with two award nominations.
