Ashley: I think when you really want something and you put your mind to it, it's amazing what the human body can tolerate and what the human spirit can stretch to.
Ashley: (her husband) I met him when I was 15, and I wrote in my journal that I knew I was going to marry him someday.
Ashley: (on considering herself a southern belle) Oh yeah! I'm a full-bred, born-and-raised girl from Tennessee and Arkansas. My momma has nine brothers and sisters. She only had three of us, but we have a huge family. Every time I'm home she makes the homemade rolls, sweet cream bread and all the typical southern chow. That's the one thing I didn't inherit. I can't cook all that! It's such an honour and a privilege to be included in this. Country Music Television and E! Entertainment are showing a different side to what people usually call 'intriguing' or 'sexy'. They've chosen strong, intelligent, accomplished women who juggle different careers, family and marriage.
Ashley: (on having a baby) There is room for the baby in the house - I mean, a baby, not the baby! Laughs There's so much I want to do before I'm ready for that. My husband hasn't been to Italy, where I went to school. We haven't been able to do silly things, like go to Yosemite or fishing in Montana. I also want to do another project, maybe an independent film, and he's a writer and wants to get into a different position at work. Of course if it happens I will be so happy, but if I have some Vontrol over it I'd love to do the traveling, the savings accounts and all of that first!
Ashley: (on what she'd like to see happen for her "B&B" character Bridget) I'd love to see her go head-to-head with Brooke. In order for her to become a woman, she has to. She needs to ask herself why she's living in her mother's shadow and what she needs to do to become her own person, instead of worrying what her mother is doing. It makes sense that she hasn't stood her ground with Brooke yet. She just isn't equipped to do that yet. Felicia will be her 'warm-up' to a bitter battle.
Ashley: (on working with Antonio Sabato Jr.) Antonio brings a wonderful dynamic. He's this gentle spirit, yet he has such a strong presence. He's beautiful and talented and is coming into his own on the show. I'm proud of him. There's a great storyline coming up with him.
Ashley: (on how the "B&B" character, Bridget, has changed since she took on the role in 2004) Her essence is similar, but she's coming of age. She's made that change from girl to young adult and the next time you see her in a real relationship, she'll be more of a woman.
