Since childhood, Ashley has had a freckle above her lip, while her sister Mary-Kate does not. This was one of the only ways that some viewers could tell the girls apart on TV when they were little.

Ashley used to collect teddy bears as a child.

Ashley and her twin sister were huge fans of Tom Cruise when they were younger. When they appeared on The Rosie O'Donnell Show in 1996, she teased them about "staying away" from Cruise, because she herself also had a crush on him. At the end of the show, O'Donnell had a Tom Cruise teddy bear and candle for the girls, which she gave to them on the condition that they raised their right hands and repeated after O'Donnell, "I promise never ever to discuss my Tom Cruise crush in public, forever and ever".

In 2008, actress Candace Cameron, who played the oldest daughter on Full House, admitted that she thought Ashley had "better " than her twin sister, Mary-Kate.

In June 2008 PETA called on its supporters to defend animal rights and send both Ashley and Mary-Kate hair clippings in protest to their wearing of fur.

Ashley says that the weirdest "twin" question that she and Mary-Kate ever got was "Do you have the same birthday?"

When Ashley and her sister promoted their 2004 film New York Minute, several of their Full House co-stars met up with them to support them, including Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin, Bob Saget, and Dave Coulier.

It's been said that on Full House, Ashley usually played Michelle when the character had to be emotional or act bratty in some way, while Mary-Kate took over for the more tomboyish, athletic side of Michelle. "One of them was more yuppie, and the other was more Melrose," TV dad Bob Saget once said about the girls in real life.

Ashley was said to be the fussier twin when she and Mary-Kate were babies on Full House and because Ashley cried so much throughout Season 1, her sister was forced to do most of the scenes.

Ashley has said in previous interviews that she can't stand listening to someone eating a banana. Her sister Mary-Kate calls it "the banana noise."

In November 2007, Ashley was linked romantically to Lance Armstrong, who is 15 years older than she is.

Ashley and her sister became the youngest self-made millionaires in American history before they were 10 years old.

Ashley is right-handed: Her height is 5'3 and she wears a size 5 1/2 shoe. Her eyes appear to change from green to blue at times.

Ashley is of Danish descent. She is the daughter of David Olsen and Jarnette Fuller.

Ashley and her sister, Mary-Kate both missed their high school prom to host Saturday Night Live. The cast made it up to them by giving them a fake prom when they did their monologue.
