Biography:

Barry Conners was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania on May 31, 1883. The son of a doctor, he graduated from law school but his dreams lay elsewhere. Joining the theatre was the turning point in his life. He started out as a song-and-dance man in Vaudeville. After being blacklisted following World War I, he began writing plays, very successful plays. One such play was "Hell's Bells" which starred Humphrey Bogart and Shirley Booth. Moving into talking motion pictures in the early thirties he wrote several screenplays until his untimely death in a fire at age 49.
