Barry Switzer is best known as the face of Oklahoma football in the 70s and 80s.He was 157-29-4 in his career at OU,(1972-1988) winning National Championships in 1974,75, and 1985. Despite being characterized as a coach that was maybe a little too leniant with players(OU was put on many probations while he was there, the last one coming in 1989, when after OU was put on 3 years probation by the NCAA, Switzer resigned) he had great success. He retired from OU with the 4th best winning percentenge in college football history(.837) He was then hired by the Dallas Cowboys in 1994, leading them to a Super Bowl win in 1996, and then in 1997, he retired. In 2002, he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame. All in all, he was someone I would want on the sidelines if I was an athletic director.
