After the hospital receives a stabbing victim one of the doctors is shocked to realize that the victim is his own son. Some colleagues of the father must help to save the son's life. Sung hopes to get a violinists perfect pitch back by removing something from the brain. Buck isn't sure what to do with the request from a kidney donor after the transplant went wrong.

Dr. Alvin Wayne causes panic after walking in on the wrong day for a procedure he will assist in. Everybody wonders if his cognitive skills need checking. Dr. Ridgeway plans to use an unusual operation that doesn't sit well with the doctors at their weekly conference. She plans to use the procedure so that a patient can cope better with his OCD. Dr. Villanueva must find a way to treat a patient, who is bleeding critically, but her religious beliefs get in the way of care she will need. A former patient decides to sue Dr. Park because she had an unusual side effect after her operation.

Sung has to apologize to the head of risk management because no apology was given to the window of the patient who died on the table. Ty and Michelle have a problem when it a person thought to be schizophrenic is unable to give consent for life-saving surgery. Sydney and Lieberman go out on a date but discover that they take their work with them on the date.

Dr. Buck is forced to check his behavior after finding out that he is named in a malpractice lawsuit brought on by Mitch Tompkins a malpractice attorney.

Two doctors try to get a patient have the brain tumor fixed with surgery one more time. Dr. Ridgway needs help dealing with the loss of a patient. A doctor tries to get a resident in trouble declaring a possible organ donor dead. A doctor needs help giving a diagnosis to a patient.

In Monday Mornings we get a look at the other side of the doctors at Chelsea General Hospital. We at look at how decisions doctors make not only affect the patients but could affect the doctor's job as well.

When Michael Holt runs across his ex-wife Anna Paul, he invites her to join him for dinner and the two share a nice evening. When Michael calls her clinic the next day, he is stunned to find out that she died two weeks prior. Anna begins to visit him from the afterlife regularly telling him that she died in a car accident and has left much work undone. She asks him to help continue running her clinic, which caters to low income patients.
