Bindi Sue Irwin

Bindi: I don't think of myself as being famous, I just feel I'm a teacher who is teaching wildlife conservation. Being well known is a way of getting the conservation message out, which is really nice.

Bindi: My mom and dad are like my superheroes. They're pretty much the best things that have happened to me in my life. And I especially like having them on my show. I have gotten to meet a lot of different people, but I'm not really anything special; I'm just Bindi Irwin, and I want to help animals, and that's why I go on TV.

Bindi: I'd have to say that my daddy shared with me the best kind of loving person. He brought me love, absolutely.

Bindi: I've been filmed from the day I was born with animals. I love them. The majority of my day when I'm at the zoo I spend with animal friends.

Terri Irwin: (about her daughter and the environment she has been growing up in) Bindi doesn't go to the zoo once or twice a year, like most kids. She goes every day of her life. If you were to put her in a suburban house with a backyard and a pet goldfish, I think that would be really hard for her. It would be kind of weird and scary. But this is absolutely the norm for her, and she loves it.

Bindi: I love orangutans so much. People call me an orangutan sometimes! I really feel like we were separated at birth. Just holding one is the most amazing experience you will ever have.

Bindi Irwin: Riding an elephant isn't scary at all. It's like going on a great adventure. When you're on top of one, you feel like you're the queen of everything!

Bindi: (addressing the National Press Club (NPC) in Washington DC in January, 2007) I don't want to grow up in a world without wildlife. We must do something now to help save their homes. We have to stop cutting down forests and polluting our oceans and rivers. ... My daddy was a wildlife warrior and I'm going to continue his work.

Bindi (on her father): I can tell you that he was just great, he was always there with me by my side through thick and thin.

Bindi (on her father): We all know that Daddy had an important job. He was working to change the world so everyone would love wildlife like he did. Now it's our turn to help him.

Bindi Irwin: Some people think that I would be afraid of them, but I'm never ever afraid of an animal. I just get excited and some that are dangerous I just think, "Oooh! What's going to happen?" and things like that. (from an Oct. 16, 2006 interview on ABC (Australia)'s Australian Story)

Terri Irwin: Bindi has a spirituality about her that I've seen with Steve. She has unbelievable sensitivity. She has an uncanny connection with wildlife. She has a love for them that was just like her dad's.

Bindi Irwin (Her speech at her father Steve Irwin's memorial service at Australia Zoo): My Daddy was my hero - he was always there for me when I needed him. He listened to me and taught me so many things but most of all he was fun. I know that daddy had an important job. He was working to change the world so everyone would love wildlife like he did. He built a hospital to help animals and he bought lots of land to give animals a safe place to live. He took me and my brother and my mum with him all the time. We filmed together, caught crocodiles together and loved being in the bush together. I don't want daddy's passion to ever end. I want to help endangered wildlife just like he did. I have the best daddy in the whole world and I will miss him every day. When I see a crocodile I will always think of him and I know that daddy made this zoo so everyone could come and learn to love all the animals. Daddy made this place (Australia zoo) his whole life and now it's our turn to help daddy.

Terri Irwin: We (Terri and Steve) say we feel sorry for the guys when she starts dating because she's a Leo, born in the year of the tiger and was named after a crocodile.
