In a spring 2007 survey conducted by leading online travel directory TotalTravel.com, Bindi was voted as the preferred representative for Australian tourism. The survey -- which asked "Who the bloody hell do you think should be the face of Australian tourism?" -- received 1609 votes. Bindi received 605 votes or 38 percent. A movie character, plumber Kenny, came in 2nd place with 448 votes (28 percent).
Though no awards or prizes were at stake, the survey revealed the impact that Bindi and her father Steve have had on modern Australian popular culture.
