After a stint in the US Army, Bo Hopkins began studying under Uta Hagen, the highly influential acting teacher at New York's Herbert Berghof Studio. His experience in summer stock and several small television guest spots earned him an audition with Sam Peckinpah - which led to his first film appearance as 'Crazy' Lee in Peckinpah's classic western, The Wild Bunch (1969).

More on to have a robust career in a wide variety of roles - often playing sheriffs. Besides frequently appearing in feature films, Bo was a regular on television throughout the '80's and '90's - including a small recurring role as John Cooper on The Rockford Files and a much larger role as Matthew Blaisdel on the prime-time soap opera Dynasty.
