Brent Jennings was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. He began his film career with the movie Brubaker in1980 and made his television debut in 1982 in the TV movie, Parole. He is best known for his roles in Moneyball (2011), Witness (1985), Life (1999), Red Heat (1988), The Serpent and the Rainbow (1988), and Honeydripper (2007). He has acted in over 80 television series and some of his most popular television credits include American Playhouse (1982), The Antagonists (1991), Cagney & Lacey (1984), Hill Street Blues (1985-1986), and Brooklyn Bridge (1992). He portrayed a lot of characters in the TV series Miami Vice, and his most notable role was as Jiveman in the episode, Heart of Darkness. Given his personality, he is generally cast in the roles of detectives and sergeants in TV serials. He also worked in a TV commercial for State Farm in 2010. In 2000, he was nominated for the Black Reel Award for Network/Cable - Best Supporting Actor for Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999).
