  • Quotes

    • (about her favorite genre of movies)
Brooke: I'm a real sucker for romantic comedies. I love watching the whole 'happily ever after' thing… The Wedding Singer gets me every time!

    • (about her favorite TV shows growing up)
Brooke: I had a very serious television-watching schedule when I was growing up. I was into The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Growing Pains, Who's the Boss, The Wonder Years and practically any other show that had a mom, a dad, and some funny kids.

    • Brooke: My favorite movies span a wide range. I like White Oleander as much as I like Dumb and Dumber and Schindler's List as much as I like Dirty Dancing. I don't care what anyone says, Patrick Swayze is a God.

    • (about the roles she is most likely to play)
Brooke: If I could play anything, I'd want to play a Rock Star! I'm the worst singer on the face of the earth so it's the closest I'll ever get to being a rock star. It would be a huge bummer to die without knowing what it would be like, don't you think?

    • (about her favorite movies)
Brooke: My favorite movies span a wide range. I like White Oleander as much as I like Dumb and Dumber and Schindler's List as much as I like Dirty Dancing. I don't care what anyone says, Patrick Swayze is a God.

    • (about the type of roles she would likes to play)
Brooke: I love playing roles where the character is a little offbeat. There's more room to move as an actor when the character isn't completely 'normal'. My favorite role was in a MTV movie called Everybody's Doing It, where I played an overzealous, apple-polishing, high school virgin who would do ANYTHING to get ahead. She was the kind of person that rubbed everyone the wrong way but didn't seem to care…or notice. I also love playing the Legally Blonde-esque character in my cartoon series, 6TEEN.

    • (about who she would like to work with)
Brooke: If I could work with anybody, it'd be Tom Cruise. Not because he's "Tom Cruise The Movie Star" but because of whom he is as a person. I know so many people who have worked with him and everyone raves about his character. I think he's one of the few people in the world who allows himself to shine and be truly happy. On top of that, he's gracious to everyone around him and always remains thankful for his blessings. I think that's extremely important.

    • (about going overseas to do a movie)
Brooke: Of course I'd go overseas to do a film! Traveling the world is one of coolest parts of the job.

    • (about her idols growing up)
Brooke: Growing up I thought Madonna hung the moon. To me she represented strength - in every sense of the word. I also thought being friends with Adam Sandler would rule. In fact, I still do.

    • (about her favorite music artist/band)
Brooke: This is going to make me sound ridiculous but my favorite band is Van Halen. My dad is a huge rocker and raised me Van Halen so hearing it always reminds me of home. So does Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

    • (about her free time)
Brooke: When I'm not acting, I'm out doing anything and everything...I take classes, dance, hike, cook, write, read, make crafts, go on weekend trips…anything to break it up a bit.

    • (about the acting scene in Canada, her home country)
Brooke: I live in Los Angeles now so I haven't been in the Canadian acting scene for a while but I'd say the main difference is the intensity. The Canadian scene is much smaller, therefore more subdued and less competitive. The humor in Canada is also a little different…I can't quite put my finger on it but it definitely has it's own style. We probably have the hosers, Bob and Doug McKenzie, to thank for that.

    • (about wanting to become an actress)
Brooke: You know, I wish I could say I had that moment in life which so many actors talk about…the moment where they went to see a play and were so moved by the whole experience. But I don't. I was in my first year of college and extremely confused about what to do with my life. I had a conversation with my dad and I'll never forget what he told me, he said, "do what you'd do if everyday was Saturday". I replied with some typical teenage angst comment to the likes of "well, if everyday was Saturday I'd be an actress but I can't because I'm TOO OLD!" Thank God he laughed at me and told me to go for it because it's the most amazing job in the world.
