On Christmas Day 2009, Brooke made headlines by calling the police to report that her husband, actor Charlie Sheen, had held a knife to her throat and threatened her life after she told him she wanted a divorce. Sheen was arrested that same day and posted bond for immediate release, but he denies pulling a knife on her, claiming that she was the aggressor in the argument (it was later revealed that Brooke indeed did have alcohol in her system when the police call was made). The couple had only been married for 19 months at the time.
In August 2008 Brooke and husband, Charlie Sheen, welcomed their twin boys into the world on March 14, 2009. The couple named their newborns Max and Bob.
Brooke Mueller: (in 2009 about her marriage with Charlie Sheen) We're best friends. We hang out together 24 hours a day. We have this connection, and it works. It's hysterical to me that he has this reputation. He is such a family man. Charlie will always be the brunt of jokes with the hookers, but I'm not worried. It's out of his system.
Brooke Mueller: (about husband Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Denise Richards' charges against him) The injustice of it makes me crazy, and it's hard to handle, but Charlie's a pro. He's an amazing father, and to hear what Denise is saying is so difficult. I want to protect him.
