On the TV screen, Bruce worked as a writer, puppeteer, and actor on the children's show
Romper Room and Friends for 13 years. Some of his characters include the jack-in-the-box Up-Up and a furry mascot named Kimble. He also worked on various projects with Jim Henson and the Muppets in the 1980's, and a kid's show called
Whirligig! in the early 1990's.
Bruce grew up in the Hudson area and graduated from University of Syracuse. As a fourth-generation Chinese-American, Bruce wrote many books and magazine articles about New York City's Chinatown. Some of his prominent
… More works include Tea That Burns, and the children's book, Henry and the Mott Street Demons. In 1994, he wrote Diamond Street: The Story of the Little Town with the Big Red Light District, documenting some of the history of his hometown of Hudson.
