Bruce Spence is a Hollywood film actor best known for his role in the Mad Max movie series. Spence, 66, was born on September 17, 1945, in Auckland, North Island, New Zealand. He was nominated for the best supporting actor in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior in 1983. He is also known for his work in the popular TV series Legend of the Seeker, and in film, his role in the movie The Matrix Revolutions and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Having spent much of his film career in Australia, he won the Australian Film Institute's 1972 Hoyts Prize for Best Performance in the 1971 movie Stork. He also won the 2005 Tropfest Best Actor- Male Award for his role in Australian Summer. Spence is one of the tallest actors to have played a leading role at 6 feet, 7 inches. His most recent role was Cloudstreet, an Australian TV mini-series that premiered in 2011.
