    • In 1983 Bryan was nominated for a Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or a Special for the mini series The Thorn Birds.

    • In 1999 Bryan won a AFI Award for 'Best Performance by an an Actor in a Supporting Role' for Two Hands.

    • Bryan is an appointed member of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in June 2005 for services to film and television and for his support of community organisations including the Hope for the Children Foundation, World Vision and the YWCA.
