Before becoming Coy Duke on The Dukes of Hazzard in 1982, Byron worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines.

He played Coy Duke in the 5th season of The Dukes of Hazzard, who was an obvious replacement for Bo Duke.

He owns and runs a business as a bartender in Ventura California, called Byrons Barkeep.

He is a Buddhist.
