Caleb Deschanel

Caleb is a director of photography, director, film instructor, and a cinematographer.

In 2004 Deschanel won a Hollywood Film Award for Cinematographer of the Year.

After graduating from the University of Southern California he attended The American Film Institute.

Deschanel was nominated for the Oscar for Best Cinematography for his work on The Patriot (2000).

He has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Cinematographers Branch) since 2003.

Deschanel is a co-founder of Dark Light Pictures (1994).

Caleb married actress Mary Jo Deschanel in July of 1972.

Before attending USC film school he attended Johns Hopkins University.

He graduated in 1968 from USC school of Cinema-Television.

He has two daughters. Their names are Emily and Zooey Deschanel and both of them are actresses.
