Calista Flockhart

In 2001, she adopted a baby boy she named Liam. A few years later, her fiancé, Harrison Ford, adopted him as well.

Calista has been nominated for eight SAG awards. From 1998-2001 she was nominated for both Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for Ally McBeal. In 1999 she won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

On April Fool's Day, 2007, Calista was proposed to by her partner, Harrison Ford. After accepting the proposal, Calista and Harrison plan to marry once Harrison finishes filming the fourth Indiana Jones movie.

During school, people were always having trouble with her name. So she would just say that her name was Carol or Jennifer to make life easier.

Calista was hesitant at first in taking the role of Ally McBeal. But then she immediately fell in love with the writing and the character.

Calista's parents always supported her in her desire to be an actress. Even when her friends were encouraging her to change professions, her parents never did.

She reportedly once dated Ben Stiller.

She narrated the children's book, Shrinking Violet by Carl Best, the CD which was released by Weston Books in 2003.

In 1999, she appeared in the play Bash with Paul Rudd and Ron Eldard in New York. The play was written by Neil LaBute.

She acted in the Medea Redux act of Bash at the Douglas Fairbanks Theater in the summer of 1999, while on hiatus from Ally McBeal.

She had a dog called Webster. He was her best friend until he died.

She dated director Sam Mendes in the late spring and summer of 1999.

In December 2000, Calista collapsed on the set of the TV show Ally McBeal. It was announced she suffered from dehydration and exhaustion and had nothing to with her thinness, that many have attributed to bulimia.

While in Shawnee High School in Medford, NJ, she was a cheerleader and was active in the student council.

In 1998, she was in one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People.

She graduated from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ in 1988, with a BFA in theatre.

She is of Irish, English, and Italian descent.

The name Kallista means most beautiful in Greek. Callista (her spelling Calista) is an Anglicization.

She also starred in non-NYC productions, such as The Three Sisters in Chicago, and Our Town and Death Takes a Holiday at the Williamstown Theater Festival.

She worked in the off-Broadway productions of The Loop, All for One, Sophistry, Wrong Turn at Lungfish, Beside Herself and Bovver Boys.

She got her first Broadway role playing Laura in Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie.

After college she worked in regional theatre in Cleveland, Louisville, Chicago, and Houston for $400 for eight weeks of work.

She attended Rutgers University in New Jersey to study acting.

Calista Flockhart was named after her great-grandmother.

Calista tried out for the part of Alison Parker on Melrose Place. The role eventually went to Courtney Thorne-Smith, with whom Calista later co-starred in Ally McBeal.

Calista and Harrison Ford are planning to marry in November 2005. It will be her first marriage, and his third.
