The doctors reach out to Bailey but she continues to shut everyone out; after an incident with Ethan's grandmother, Owen fears the child could end up in foster care; and a new craniofacial specialist arrives at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to work on a young patient; meanwhile, a magician's assistant is rushed into the ER after a magic trick goes terribly wrong.

A gas tanker explodes on a Seattle highway, causing multiple injuries -- including paramedic Matthew; Meredith and Jo help a frantic mother (Sarah Chalke) whose child is suffering from a mysterious illness; and Owen bonds with a young boy whose parents are in critical condition. Meanwhile true colors are revealed when Alex is forced to work with Jo's boyfriend on an ailing patient.

While the hospital is hanging on a thread, the team looks for an investor to help them purchase the hospital. All while keeping Owen and the Pegasus team in the dark about their good intentions for the hospital.

Callie comes up with an idea to save the hospital while Owen addresses the plan to sell to Pegasus to the doctors and nurses. April's date surprises her with a secret of his own.

Competition heats up as several of the doctors fight to become the new face of Seattle Grace; April brings in an emergency case, and Jackson and Alex work with a transgender teen couple. Meanwhile, the hospital implements new policies which test the patience of the staff.

The Seattle Grace doctors are on edge when a new medical professional enters the hospital; Arizona struggles with the emotional and physical pain of a phantom limb; and while battling pregnancy hormones, an overly-emotional Meredith is confronted with her worst fear.

Bailey puts her wedding day on hold and continues her efforts to save Adele's life, Cristina and Owen remain undecided about their pending divorce, while Arizona and Callie try to get their spark back. Meanwhile, the hospital becomes inundated with a group of bikers after a horrible accident.

As the rest of the doctors prepare for Bailey's wedding, Richard helps her through a bout of pre-wedding jitters. Meanwhile, Lizzie butts heads with Meredith, and Callie and Jackson try to convince Derek to participate in a risky surgery that could fix his hand.

The new batch of interns find themselves involved in all the drama at Seattle Grace: Meredith asks Heather to go above and beyond to help fix Derek's hand; Cristina starts a healthy competition between Stephanie and Leah, which inadvertently leads to a medical emergency for Cristina's patient; Alex sees Jo in a new light as they work to save a baby's life, and April teaches Shane a valuable lesson during "lumps and bumps" duty.

As the doctors continue with their lawsuit, they're forced to confront the realities of their injuries. Meanwhile, Bailey tricks Arizona into helping her with a pediatric case, and Cristina tries to find normalcy in her new environment.

As Meredith and Cristina rely on each other as they cope with increasing responsibilities at their respective hospitals and cope with life after the plane crash; Cristina helps Dr. Thomas with a challenging heart surgery.

Aware that Derek might never operate again, Meredith stops talking about the surgeries she's performing. Meanwhile, Richard calls on Dr. Catherine Avery to help him perform a complicated procedure, as things continue to heat up between Jackson and April; and Arizona's struggle to accept her fate forces Callie and Alex to face their guilt.

The survivors from the crash are asked to make an almost impossible decision that will affect the rest of their lives. Meanwhile, tension grows between Jackson and April after they're forced to work together, and Alex tries to restrain himself with one of the interns.

The doctors of Seattle Grace are faced with the aftermath of last season's plane crash. As they try to move on with their lives, they must learn to adapt to the changes, cope with their losses and move forward with their relationships and careers.

Eric makes a final and desperate attempt to bring down the Authority and, at the same time, save Bill from losing his humanity. Alcide gets ready for a second confrontation with JD. Sam and Luna must use all their resources in order to escape from the Authority. Andy must deal with the consequences of a deal he made.

To help Sookie look into an ancient family secret, Maurella and Claude take her to meet the faerie elder. Jessica becomes an unwilling participant in Bill's ongoing religious conversion. The military uses a damning video of Russell and Steve Newlin as ammunition to deliver an ultimatum to the Authority. Alcide reconnects with his father. Sam and Luna hitch a ride into the Authority.

With vampire attacks are on the rise, Bill starts a public relations campaign to gain public favor. Nora, on the other hand, is having a hard time selling Lilith's gospel to Eric. Jason's discovery of a mysterious scroll could reveal details about his family history. The new sheriff of Area 5 presses Pam and Tara to obey a new directive. Sam and Luna search for Emma. Russell seeks out his destiny.

Salome and the Chancellors celebrate the start of the vampire holy war. Sookie gets a hint about her parents' murder but anti-supernatural enthusiasts put her in danger. Eric plans his escape. Andy and Jason are out looking for leads behind the shifter killings. Alcide remembers how he was initiated into his pack. Arlene is trapped between Terry and Patrick's clash. Steve gets a new pet.

The aftermath at the asylum has Sookie filled with dread. The Authority retrieve Bill and Eric. Pam gets involved when Tara's actions lead to a fight. After receiving an alarming message from Jesus, Ruby Jean gets a visit from Lafayette. Terry thinks a curse is to blame for his predicament. Sam lends Andy a hand with an investigation. Alcide faces up to J.D. Roman reveals his plans for Russell.

Hank starts to wondering if he's in Hell when he realizes that the bartender at a local watering hole is his the late Lew Ashby. Richard makes a surprising announcement about Hank and Karen. Hank tries to smooth things over with Becca, but she has some news about Tyler that leaves him shocked. On the set of "Santa Monica Cop," Sam's jealousy and fondness for firearms provides Charlie with an opportunity to show Hank how far he will go to protect his best friend and top client. Hank's ex-girlfriend surprises him with a plan for them to be together forever.

After overstaying his welcome at Karen and Richard's house, Hank prepares to leave for New York. He makes a final stop at Malibar, where he runs into Lizzie, who convinces Hank to go back to Charlie's house with. When he arrives, Hank realizes it's a surprise going away party, hosted by his friends, family, and enemies: Karen, Becca, Charlie, Marcy, Stu, Sam, Kali, Richard and his sponsor, Gabriel. Before the night is over, Hank has a final run-in with Tyler.

After the argument with Charlie, Hank stays Karen and Becca. While searching for a new agent, Hank meets Hollywood power agent Larry Levine, who quickly sets a meeting with the top-notch filmmaker Lars Manderhoff, who also happens to be a Hank Moody idol. It appears to be a perfect match-up when Lars surprises Hank with one of his favorite working girls, Trixie. Upset over his losses, Charlie turns to Marcy for comfort as Lizzie enjoys her big break, a part in "Santa Monica Cop," thanks to Stu.

As production gets underway on Hank's latest movie "Santa Monica Cop," Stu has brought back his old director from "Fucking and Punching," hoping to create a box office hit with the new movie. However, Hank's rendezvous with the film's leading lady strains his relationship with Sam. Luckily for Hank and the rest of the movie's crew, Charlie has a backup plan in place.

Hank is forced to read Tyler's screenplay and is surprised by Tyler's talent, despite the fact that the script appears to be a frighteningly autobiographical account of Tyler's relationship with Becca. Charlie and Lizzie's love quadrangle with Stu and Marcy heats up, but when their bedroom games hit too close to home for Charlie, all four may be headed for therapy.

Hank rescues Karen from an embarrassing situation with a drunk Richard, then covers for Richard by pretending that he is dating a stripper named Holly. Becca is upset when she finds out that Holly has taken a liking to Tyler. Meanwhile, Marcy fires Lizzie after an inappropriate encounter with Stu, and Lizzie turns to Charlie for help and allows their relationship to progress, only to have Marcy beg for her return.

Hank receives a surprise visit from Carrie, the ex-girlfriend who set fire to his New York apartment. Hank is forced to bring Carrie along when Karen and Becca stop by and invite him to a dinner party. Stu, Marcy, and Bates' talk of sexual proclivities leaves the Moodys looking to make a quick exit, but the party gets even more out of control when Carrie has a realization about Hank. Meanwhile, Charlie goes on a blind date with Mary, a "nice girl" who's more than a little inexperienced.

Hank hands a completed draft of "Santa Monica Cop" over to Samurai Apocalypse, but he still finds himself stuck in L.A. when he's asked to take Kali, his "acquaintance" from the flight to Los Angles, out for a night on the town. Tyler crashes at Karen and Becca's house while he recovers from his injuries. Charlie is rescued from a serious parental crisis by Stuart's nanny, Lizzie.

Hank turns down the job to write Samurai Apocalypse's new movie, but Sam refuses to take no for an answer and takes Hank to a meet with director Peter Berg, where they discover that Hank and Peter have shared more than just a love of writing. Sam decides that he's going to get rid of Tyler, which makes puts a strain on Hank and Becca's relationship. Co-parents Charlie, Marcy, and Stu have their hands full when Little Stuart exposes himself to a preschool classmate, and Charlie makes it his personal goal to mend fences with the offended girl's attractive mother.
