Carole Landis was born on New Year's Day in 1919. Her parents were of Norwegian and Polish descent. Her father would eventually leave the family to support themselves. At age 15, she married Irving Wheeler, but it was annuled because of her age. They would later get married again, and move to California. It was while in CA the acting bug got to her, and she tried to make it in film. Her early career was of playing bit parts. Then her roles changed to bigger parts in "B" movies, and something small parts in "A" movies. By 1948, her opportunities were dying out, and with another failed
