Now a leading character actress, Langrishe began her career in repertory at the Bristol Old Vic, before the West End stage and in 1976 her first screen roles. She may be best known for her role in Judge John Deed as Georgina Channing and was the leading lady of Lovejoy for two seasons. A cousin of Sir Hercules Langrishe, an Anglo-Irish baronet, in 1984 she married the actor Patrick Drury, but they were divorced in 1996. They have two daughters, Leonie and Rosalind.
