Carrie-Anne Moss was raised by a single mother, Barbara, in Vancouver, British Columbia. She is youngest of two children. At an early age, she already knew she wanted to pursue acting as a career. She made her acting debut in the Vancouver children's musical theater. She toured Europe with the school choir while attending Magee Secondary School.
When she was 20, she moved to Europe to pursue a career in modeling. In Spain, she managed to get a regular role on the TV show entitled Dark Justice
which first aired in 1991. The show was produced in Barcelona for the first season and was shot on location in Los Angeles for the second season. She made several short-lived appearances on television before making it big on film.
In 1999, Carrie's acting career skyrocketed with her portrayal of Trinity in the philosophical sci-fi film The Matrix
, a role she reprised in the film's two sequels. She has since appeared in various indie films has also appeared in numerous commercials. Carrie resides in Toronto and Vancouver when she is not on location.
