One of the French cinema's most sparkling talents, Catherine Deneuve has graced over 40 films with her presence and has continued to act as the gold standard for women in film. Beginning in the late 1950's Deneuve's career has always revolved around playing icy, strong women in such films as "The Umbrellas of Cherbourgh", "Belle de Jour", "Indochine", and "8 Women." While recognised as an actress par excellance it has been Deneuve's striking features that have kept her in the international spotlight. She has been the face of Chanel's #5 perfume and recently signed on as a model for L'OrealMore haircare products in France. Deneuve is a woman in perpetual motion, constantly moving from strength to strength. She is regarded as a national treasure in her native France where Deneuve's visage is used to symbolise "Marianne"; the national symbol of France. She has two children, Christian Vadim (by director Roger Vadim) and Chiara Mastroianni (by actor Marcello Mastroianni). She resides in the luxurious neighbourhood of Saint Germain des Pres in Paris, France.

More famous for her work in French cinema, Catherine Deneuve is really a wonderful actress. Her sense of realism in all of her characters is what makes her really stand out above the masses of the rest of actresses today. My favorite movie of her's is "Dangerous Liasons."
