  • Quotes

    • Chad: [Sophia and I] are both professional and mature enough to get through it. Now, it's just easy. She's got James, and James and I are friends. It's just a little tight group in Wilmington.

    • Chad: I just want to be healthy and happy. I don't want to hurt anybody or make them mad. If that's a philosophy then that's my philosophy.

    • Chad: My rule is to just be who I am. Sometimes I don't take my own advice, but I know that no matter what, I can be happy with continuing forward. I wake up in the morning proud of the man I'm becoming.

    • Chad: High School ends, you graduate and get away from all the people you never want to see again. It's all good.

    • Chad: In season one, I had to do a scene where I was naked--all I had to cover me was a basketball in the front and a basketball in the back. They actually cut a hole in the front ball so I could put all my junk in there. Then I had to walk toward the camera and away from the camera--we shot it from both sides. It was incredibly embarrassing.

    • Chad: (on his House of Wax co-star Paris Hilton) She's cool. I think the stereotypes suck because she's really a sweet person. She really is. I mean, she was one of the nicest people on the set. She never had a negative thing to say and she tried really hard. She tried really hard on the film. She impressed me.

    • Chad: (Regarding his break-up with Sophia Bush) I am saddened to announce that Sophia and I are separating... This is a very difficult time for me.

    • Chad: I feel like I took a lot of the things; I did what I had to do to get to where I want to be, and I'm going to continue to do what I do to get to where I want to be. I take an ideal like Sean Penn's career. I think Sean Penn's the epitome of what every actor could and should want to be. He just is. He's incredible.

    • Chad: You know what? Look. I'm going to work as hard as I gotta do. I only work as much as I can right now, on projects that I want to work on. If there's not something next summer that I'm going to do, then yeah, I'll take a break. But right now I'm young and I'm having a lot of fun doing what I'm doing and I'm growing. I have a lot to learn and I just want to be able to learn as much as I can, day in, day out. Those are the flags.

    • Chad: Cinderella Story, what are you going to do, go back and watch Cinderella? I mean, really. There's no mice. What can I say? House of Wax, I went back and watched the 1953 version with Vincent Price. I just thought it was eerie. But that was in choosing if I wanted to do it or not. I wanted to see what kind of feeling I got and it was eerie. There's just something really creepy about wax.

    • Chad: I want to go to Supernatural. All my boys are over there, and they get to have fun all the time. Cross me over there. Let me kill some ghosts.

    • Chad: James is unbelievable. He's played basketball his whole life; he's incredibly talented at the sport. For myself, I just can't do it. I've got better ball control now, but I just can't get the ball in the hoop.

    • Chad: It's not bad to sit down and have a drink occasionally. I'm not saying don't drink period. Everything in moderation.

    • Chad: Let's see... Number one, I had no friends. I was a nerd. I guess I've become more secure with who I am. I always felt like I was a box. I wasn't like the other people. I didn't wear the same clothes because I couldn't afford them. I always liked what I liked and I never understood why that wasn't accepted. Now, I realize it doesn't matter if I am accepted. I am who I am and I like who I am. I like what I wear. And I like that I don't have to get loaded to have fun.

    • Chad: I grew up and I saw a lot of people lose their lives or fall into a bad place. It really bothered me because I cared for some of those people. I would like to see everyone have a fair shot. I didn't do it. I didn't drink or do drugs. I had the opportunity to give myself a better life and try to be happy

    • Chad: (What sorts of roles have been coming your way?) A lot of the Fast & Furious type of movies. That's sort of what's hot right now--the motorcycle, crazy racing thing. Don't get me wrong, I love watching those types of movies. I thought Fast & Furious was cool, but my favorite kind of film is... like Taxi Driver. I love the character Robert DeNiro played. It was brilliant. I want the chance to create a... what's the word I'm looking for... crazy character. A complex character. When you show up and play a one dimensional character, it feels too easy.

    • Chad: I think that I'm definitely connected to my sensitive side. I pretty much wear my emotions on my sleeves for the people in my life.

    • Chad: Golly, I hated high school. I absolutely detested high school.

    • Chad: When I did Freaky Friday, Lindsay was playing two characters, so she had a lot of work to do. She had to study Jamie really hard and Jamie had to study her. On Cinderella Story, Hilary got to come in and she just had to study what it's like to be a little insecure and she hasn't had that opportunity, I don't think. So she got to see what it was like to be not the cool chick. So, I don't know. You have to see it to know what I mean. That's the one perk that we get as actors is you get to really see how these people work, but you can't really explain it.

    • Chad: I played football, so during the season I got respect, but that disappeared the second football was over. I was picked on because I wasn't like everyone else.

    • Chad: I had to sing Britney's '...Baby One More Time' for Freaky Friday, and I'm not a singer. There I was in this L.A. neighborhood, singing. All the neighbors came out to watch.

    • Chad: Trust me, high school ends. You graduate and get away from all the people you never want to see again--it's all good.

    • Chad: (on what projects he wants to do in the future) ...something that may skew a little bit away from the demographic that I've been catering to for the last few years... something that I feel just betters me as a human being.

    • Chad: When you realize you're alive, you can live life!

    • Chad: My mother left when I was ten... My father raised five kids and was there for me every day. I idolized my father and looked up to him.

    • Chad: Tyler Hilton is one of my best friends now. As a human being, he's an incredible person and as an artist, he's an incredible artist. I love his music, every time I get in the car, he's in the CD player.

    • Chad: I love a conservative girl. Let me be honest. I love a great pair of jeans and I love turtlenecks... Most guys want to see a girl wearing nothing! Tank tops are cute, too. Then you show a little skin, but you're still conservative.

    • Chad: I just want to be healthy and happy. I don't want to hurt anybody or make them mad. If that's a philosophy then that's my philosophy.

    • Chad: Sophia and I don't view our marriage as a Hollywood relationship. You get married because you want to spend the rest of your life with someone that you know and love.
