When Chaz was handed a script during an audition for Set It Off, he noticed that it included profanity. He asked that some less offensive words replace the profanity, even though he knew it may turn off the producers, but instead, they admired it and gave him a role.
Chaz Lamar Shepherd: Once you start understanding what life is all about, then you start getting excited about being used by God. You realize that's the only thing that could possibly matter about your life. I'd rather be used by God than work with Denzel Washington. Because this is God I'm talking about. You cannot lose by being in God.
Chaz Lamar Shepherd: You can't tell me God ain't real, because for me to read that much, that's totally God. I'm in the process of growing like I've never grown. I'm hungry. God's making a major change in me.
