Cherry Jones is an actress that was born on November 21, 1956 in Paris, Tennessee. In 1978, she graduated from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. When she attended this school, she worked as an actress at City Theatre. Most of Cherry's acting has been on Broadway. Some of the plays she has starred in include The Heiress, Imaginary Friends, and A Moon For the Misbegotten. She has even won a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Play for her role in the play, Doubt. However, she is best known for her role as President Allison Taylor on the television show, 24, for which she has won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Cherry also has had roles on the big screen, in movies like The Perfect Storm, Ocean's Twelve, and Cradle Will Rock. Currently, Cherry Jones can be seen on the television show, Awake, in which she plays psychiatrist Doctor Judith Evans.
