Francis "Chick" Hearn, a native of Aurora, Illinois, established a standard of broadcasting that earned the legendary announcer a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1986. Known for creating play-by-play buzzwords such as "on him like a postage stamp", "the mustard's off the hot dog" and "can't throw a pea in the ocean", Hearn broadcast 3,338 consecutive games for the Los Angeles Lakers.
