Chill Wills started out his career as a singer in the Avalon Boys Quartet. The group appeared in several Western films of the 1930's. This lead Chill Wills into an acting career. He was the voice of Francis the Talking Mule in a series of films. He received an Academy Award nomination for the film The Alamo and continued acting in films and television. In 1962 he starred in the series Frontier Circus and in 1966, he played a Texas rancher in the television series The Rounders. A true American Western character actor that would be Chill Wills.
