Born and raised on a cattle ranch, Chris Cooper is best-known for his role as the toothless orchid thief in "Adaptation," which garnered him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He studied Agriculture and Drama at the University of Missouri before heading to New York City to become an actor. He has been in over 40 films, as well as many television credits. He and his wife Marianne married in 1983. They had one son, Jesse, who passed away in January 2005 due to complications from Cerebral Palsy.

    Fantastic actor and extremly talented. I was very surprised by his performance in the movie "The Bourne Identity" with Matt Damond. He is so good when he has to play one of the bad guys.
