Slater: Rehab worked for me because I was ready to stop, move on and let it all go. If you're not, you'll just con, manipulate and deceive your way through the whole process, get out and go right back to where you left off. I knew I didn't want to feel that way any more. So I asked myself who I wanted to be. I made lists of all the things I could do to make me feel better about myself, things that I had never accomplished. Then, slowly, I began to tick them off. It was a very healing process.
