Jos Verstappen: [Christijan] Albers must look at himself in the mirror. He always blames others for his own mistakes. He has also never had any success during his Formula One career, so it doesn't surprise me that the fans were never too bothered about him.

Christijan: (hitting out at 'unfair' sacking from Spyker) The problems with this particular sponsor already occurred in December 2006 and January this year. However, the contract with this sponsor was agreed between the sponsor and the team directly without my intervention. Before as well as during the season several sponsors have been introduced to the Spyker F1 team based on my name and relationship with the team. Regardless of the problems with the heretofore mentioned sponsor the team directors had already given me verbal and written guarantees that I would finish the season in January this year. Therefore the team's decision to terminate the co-operation with me came as an unpleasant surprise to me. It is very unfair and I very much regret that this unexpected decision will prohibit me from driving in the new Spyker B car, especially since I have put much effort and time into its development with the help of the team staff and technicians.

Christijan: (on his surprise sacking from the Spyker F1 team in July 2007) Despite the problems with the previous named sponsor I got a written and vocal agreement in January 2007 that I would drive the entire year. During the past season I tried to focus on the racing and left the commercial aspects to my advisors. The decision to stop the cooperation was an unpleasant surprise and it's a shame that I can't drive the B version of the car now.

Christijan: (on racing against an F-16 fighter jet in April 2007) It was a tight race, for the first 300m all I could see was the plane in my mirrors, but then he just accelerated past me and off into the distance - it was incredible! I'd never been close to an F16, or even sat in one, so it was really interesting to compare the performance of the two. Aside from the displays though, Ralph and his team do some brave work out there, I have a lot of respect for them.

Jacques Villeneuve: (on Christijan) A nasty, dirty driver.

Christijan: (ahead of the 2007 season) I'm really looking forward to the season. I'm really motivated and fit and I definitely want to kick some ass.

Christijan: (on the Spyker F8-VII car for 2007) It looks amazing. We don't know exactly how good it will be until we start testing it but one thing we do know is that we are not going to be out the front. We have to be realistic.

Christijan: (admitting time is running out for him to win an F1 championship) I am running out of years, everyone says that and I know it.
