Christine Lahti

Christine directed the movie "My First Mister", who had an opening night presentation at the Sundance Film Festival.

Christine moved to New York City in 1973 at age 25.

When Christine was a little girl, she participated as a tree in a school play and as Virgin Mary in a Christmas pageant.

Christine takes spinning classes, and Pilates.

Christine's favorite films are "Housekeeping" and "Running on Empty"; on stage, "Summer and Smoke", "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and "The Heidi Chronicles".

Since Christine was a young girl, she was always active in theatre and other forms of stage work.

Lahti is active in political causes.

In 1995 Christine starred in and directed the short film "Lieberman in Love".

Lahti appeared on Broadway in Wendy Wasserstein's play, "The Heidi Chronicles".

In 1979 Christine worked with Al Pacino in the movie "Justice for All".

Christine worked as a waitress and did commercials in New York City.

Christine toured Europe as part of a pantomime acting troupe.

Christine received her bachelor's degree in drama from the University of Michigan.

Christine studied fine arts at Florida State University.

She is married to director Thomas Schlamme of The West Wing fame.

In February 2004, she protested alongside fellow actresses Sally Field & Jane Fonda, and playwright Eve Ensler urging the Mexican government to re-investigate the slayings of hundreds of women in Ciudad Juarez, on the Mexico-Texas border.

Christine was in the bathroom when she won her Golden Globe in 1998. She now makes light of this whenever presenting or receiving an award. In 1999, she purposely presented for the Golden Globes with a piece of toilet paper attached to her shoe.
