Christopher's personal trainer was Cliff Harvey, and he does a testimonial for his trainer's ability to get people in shape at Cliff's website.
Christopher was very pleased when John Leigh was cast as his best friend in the movie Spooked, because they are such good friends in real life. They had previously worked together on Shortland Street, and knew that their actings styles went well together.
For his role in the feature film Spooked Christopher prepared himself by watching scary movies such as The Exorcist and The Shining, even though scary movies had terrified him as a child. He also cut back on the amount he slept, and used the extra night hours to drive alone through the locations in Auckland where the movie was set to get a feel for the loneliness of it.
When Christopher's sister Rebecca joined the cast of Shortland Street in 2000, the local media joked that they should change the name of the show to "All in the Family", because Christopher and their sister Katrina were both core cast members as well.
Christopher is the nephew of Marion Hobbs, New Zealand's former Minister for the Environment, Biosecurity and Broadcasting.
Christopher has performed in numerous radio plays for Radio New Zealand, including Valley of the Wallabies (Lead, 1981), The Mad Dog Gang, ("Dynamite Murphy", 1982), and The God Boy, (Lead, 1982).
Christopher left Shortland Street in 2000 because he was uncomfortable with the attention he was receiving from fans of the show, so he moved to Australia for a bit of anonymity. But after he made his first movie he decided to move to LA to promote his film career.
