Her name is pronounced Ky-ler, but when she landed a starring role in Grey's Anatomy in 2007, co-star Katherine Heigl joked that instead of hazing her, she would just walk around and call her Chy-ler all day. Fortunately, Chyler says that everyone on set was very nice to her when she arrived.
Announced in December 2008, that her and her Husband, are expecting their third child together. There are no plans to write the pregnancy into her TV show, Grey's Anatomy.
As preparation for her Not Another Teen Movie character which was a spoof of Rachael Leigh Cook's character in She's All That, Chyler watched Cook's movie 15 times to capture all her mannerisms and expressions.
Chyler and husband Nathan, whom she met in the pilot of Saving Graces struggled with drug addiction from when she was 17 until she was 19 years old. She attributes their recovery to faith and their involvement with a non-denominational Christian church in Los Angeles.

Chyler appeared with her husband, Nathan West, on several episodes of 7th Heaven during its fifth season. They played a troubled young married couple, Frankie and Johnny. Chyler and Nathan's characters mirrored their real-life battle with drugs and self-destruction.

Chyler Leigh and Nathan West got married on July 20, 2002. They have one son, Noah Wilde (b. 2003) and a daughter, Taelyn (b. 2006).
Chyler is sister of actor Christopher Khayman Lee. When they both got cast for Safe Harbor, the writers had to do major re-writing on the show's plot because their characters were meant to be a romantic couple, and they (the writers) were unaware of the fact that the actors were siblings.
Chyler originally auditioned for the part of Sophia on That '80s Show. She eventually landed the role of June Tuesday.
Chyler: (on her struggle with drugs) We went through about two years of complete obliteration. It came down to, "Do you want to choose to live, or do you want to choose to die?" And we chose life.
Chyler: I think television is great because it gives you consistency.
Chyler: At the end of the day who knows how long this [Grey's Anatomy] is going to last? I don't know. I need to look past it and set things up for the future so that however long this does last, great, I'm so flattered and so grateful to work in this town.
Chyler: Starting clean is a theme for me — starting fresh and understanding what's important about life. Instead of being passive, becoming passionate about what I do, what I want. It is just living life intentionally — that is what I want instead of just existing.
Chyler: I would, for the most part, rather kiss than make love. If a guy can't kiss, I don't think he'd be very good in bed.
Chyler: (on getting the role of Janey in "Not Another Teen Movie") I just loved the script. So, after I found out I got the part of Janey, the initial moment was one of those mouth-dropping excited moments, but a few hours later, I started crying, because I was terrified by the huge responsibility I was about to take on.
Chyler: I have a bet with my friends that I'm not going to be recognized. I don't think it's going to happen, but everyone's telling me that it will.
Chyler: (on playing her character in "Not Another Teen Movie") When my manager sent me the script, she told me not to get my hopes up for the Janey part because she said it could quite possibly go to a name [actor].
Chyler: I don't want to hear it. It's a really bit turn-off. I don't like cheesy chat-up lines, just be honest.
Chyler: To me, it [Alaska] is absolutely where my heart is. So we definitely want to move... when the time is right.
Chyler: Basically I'm the awkward rebel-artist girl with glasses and a pony-tail, who ends up having a bet made about her by the popular boy.
Chyler: (on playing her character in "Not Another Teen Movie") Being Janey was so much fun. I got to release, I guess.
