She contributed vocals to the song Night Falls Like a Grand Piano on the album Hyacinths and Thistles (2000) by Magnetic Fields.
After Altered Images broke up in 1984, Clare tried for a solo career, signing with London Records. This led to one single and an album in 1987 which was unreleased.
Clare appears on the cover sleeve of the album Bite (1983) wearing a glamorous dress and looking like a movie star - far removed from her former dream punk image.
Her first single as the lead singer of Altered Images was controversial. Between the song Dead Pop Stars being recorded and released, John Lennon was shot and killed.
Clare rejoined Altered Images when the band reformed in 2002 for a UK tour called Here and Now, and then again for a few more gigs in 2004.
From 1994 to 1998, Clare was one of the three main presenters of SMG's TV travel show Scottish Passport. In 1997, the show was nominated for a BAFTA Award (Best Special Interest Programme).
She was the presenter of the BBC Radio Scotland music show Class Act.
Clare's current agent, as of 2006, is Ruth Young at PFD, 34-43 Russell Street, London WC2B 5HA, England.
Clare continues to work in television as a presenter and now lives in North London.
After the band Altered Images broke up in 1984, leaving her out of a job, Bill Forsyth gave Clare another leading role in a movie. This time it was Comfort and Joy (1984).
When she was eighteen, Clare was working as a waitress in a Glasgow restaurant called The Spaghetti Factory, when a customer told her he was making a movie and offered her a part in it. The customer was Bill Forsyth and the movie was Gregory's Girl (1981).
Her first screen role was in the hit Scottish movie Gregory's Girl.
For several years, Clare was credited on screen as C.P. Grogan, because another Clare Grogan was already a member of the British actors' Union Equity.
Her hits as a singer include the songs Happy Birthday and I Could Be Happy.
In the 1980s, Clare was the lead singer of the British band Altered Images.
Clare has been married to record producer Stephen Lironi since 1994.
