Corey Miller: I wish I could say that submerging myself into the depths of depravity on a daily basis to come up with material for [CSI: Miami] as an unfortunate job hazard, but just the opposite is true. "I am fascinated by the evils that humans do, to themselves and each other, and I get paid to write about them.

Corey Miller: My own personal weakness was revealed to me when I wrote an episode in [CSI Miami's] second season entitled "Rap Sheet." In it, a woman in an open-topped Jeep gets into a car accident, and as she flies out of the car, her toe catches on metal, and her toenail gets ripped out. I still get chills just thinking about it. Head wounds, check. Eviscerations, check. Nails in eyes, cool. But that toenail? Man, that's my Kryptonite.
