Craig Bierko is an American actor who was born on August 18, 1964. Raised in Rye Brook, New York, his parents ran the local community theater. Bierko got his first big break when he was cast in a short-lived CBS sit-com in 1990 titled "Sydney" opposite Valerie Bertanelli and Mathew Perry. Other television work followed on shows such as "Amen," "Wings," "Ally McBeal," "Sex in the City" and "Boston Legal." Interestingly, he was the original choice for "Chandler Bing" on the hit sit-com "Friends" which ultimately went to Matthew Perry. Bierko also has had a successful Broadway career as a song and dance man. In 2000, he portrayed the title role of "Harold Hill" in a revival of "The Music Man." That role landed him a Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award. Bierko has extensive film credits including memorable performances in such films as "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" opposite Johnny Depp and "Cinderella Man" opposite Russell Crowe.
